Process

In the constant reassessment of each painting in the studio, I am not only looking at how it looks to me now and what I think it needs, but also how my sight has changed over time. I was experiencing visual difficulties when creating some of the work, so it’s a multi-layered reassessment. I’ve also learned techniques for applying transparent glazes to help illuminate the layers and the spaces between them. It’s a slow and necessary process, but I don’t mind. I love the problem solving, the looking back, the remembering.
